YENER KOÇ
Tufts University School of Medicine, New England Medical Center Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, Boston, USA

The non-Hodgkin's lymphomas represent a heterogeneous group of disorders linked together by the commonality of a malignant monoclonal population of either B or T lymphocytes but differing greatly in clinical presentation, prognosis and treatment strategies. The focus of this review will be the new treatment approaches and high-dose chemotherapy with or without stem cell transplantation for diffuse aggressive lymphomas as defined by both the Working Formulation and the Revised European-American Lymphoma classification systems.
